Improving boys performance
A one day conference led by
Paul Burton and David Willet
The course will be examing the recent attention to boys unachievement offering, opportunites for discussion and review of present practice
The course will provide illustrated inputs, discussion points, group work and observations based upon ideas and research from a range of sources. These include the work of Chris Kyracou, Gammage and Coles, Sheila Russell and Michael Fullen who are authorities in the fields of school improvement, school review techniques and how children learn. The recent work of Geoff Hannan, Alistair Smith and John Richardson on boys' underachievement, behaviour management and Learning to Learn will also be examined. However, a substantial part of the course will centre on Paul’s and David's own practical involvement in improving boys' performance.
